It's a tumultuous time for renewable energy in Australia.
On one hand, the Federal Coalition government has mounted an unrelenting attack on renewable energy. Investment in the sector collapsed by 90 percent and over 2,500 people lost their jobs on the Coalition's watch.
On the other, the Daniel Andrews government has committed to a Victorian Renewable Energy Target that will create thousands of good jobs while cutting polluting fossil fuels.
Friends of the Earth's Yes 2 Renewables campaign for 100% renewable energy in Victoria (ASAP!) has been in the thick of it since 2010—defending renewable energy from attacks and championing policies to grow them.
The wins we've helped secure in Victoria, and strong defense of renewables wouldn't have occurred without Yes 2 Renewables' dogged campaigning.
We're geared up to push for more good outcomes. But we need your help to keep the campaign going from strength to strength.
Your contributions will ensure that Friends of the Earth's Yes 2 Renewables campaign is a force for good outcomes.
Yes 2 Renewables punch above its weight when it comes to renewable energy advocacy. Over the next 12 months we will be working to:
- Defend the Victorian Renewable Energy Target from climate change deniers in Parliament.
- Support Victorian communities aiming for 100% renewable energy, such as Woodend and Yackandandah, and engage with the Victorian Parliament's inquiry into community energy.
- Build a future climate justice campaign in Victoria.
